Michael Cook

Michael Cook, CFA, Ph.D. Managing Director
Michael Cook, Ph.D., CFA Managing Director.Michael is Director of the Quantitative Research team, where he is responsible for strategic risk management across all products, as well as new product development. His background is in mathematics and computer science, and his evolution has been from the study of pure mathematics as a graduate student, to applying mathematics in the fields of crystallography, neuroscience, biology, and since 1993, finance. Michael joined AG Asset Management as Director of Risk Analysis in 1997. Before that he did trade research at Niederhoffer Investments, and was then a Vice President at Mortgage Industry Advisory Corporation, analyzing mortgage risk and how to hedge it. He is a frequent speaker on risk and portfolio strategies at industry conferences.

Michael received a Ph.D. in Mathematics from The Graduate Center of The City University of New York and a BA in Math, summa cum laude, from Hunter College. He is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts, The CFA Institute, the Market Technicians Association, and the Society of Quantitative Analysts.

Peter Hermann

Peter Hermann, Managing Director
Peter is lead portfolio manager for Large Cap Growth and is a research analyst. He joined AG Asset Management in early 2005. He previously spent ten years at Morgan Stanley, where he managed or co-managed several different growth equity funds. Several of those years were spent working with Gus Scacco. Peter has 18 years of investment management experience including beginning his career within the Institutional Investment Council at the Bank of New York where he spent nearly seven years. He joined AG Asset Management from Fulcrum Asset Management, where he was a Managing Director and managed long-short equity strategies.

Peter has an MBA from Carnegie-Mellon, a JD from the University of Pittsburgh and BA from Tufts University. He has passed the Series 7, 63, 65 examinations and is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar.

Allen R. Margolius

Allen R. Margolius, Managing Director
Allen joined AG Asset Management in 2004 from Credit Suisse Asset Management, where he was an Associate Portfolio Manager and Equity Research Analyst assisting in the day-to-day management of a $1B small cap growth portfolio.

Allen began his career at JP Morgan & Co., Inc. where he worked in Emerging Markets Debt Restructuring as an Interest Bond Specialist from 1992 to 1995. He attended The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, from 1995–1997. He then went on to work at DB Alex. Brown Inc. as an Assistant Vice President, Institutional Equity Sales, and provided analysis for potential trading ideas, IPOs, and follow-on offerings to mutual fund and hedge fund accounts, from 1997–2000. He was with Credit Suisse from May 2000 until joining AG Asset Management.

Allen has an MBA from The Wharton School, and a BA from SUNY Binghamton.

Sammy Oh

Sammy Oh, Managing Director
Sammy is portfolio manager and analyst specializing in small, smid cap and emerging growth US equity portfolios. He was with AG Asset Management from 1993-1995 and rejoined in 2004 from Credit Suisse Asset Management (CSAM), where he was also a managing director.

Sammy began his career as a financial analyst at Oracle Corporation and then was an equity analyst at AG Asset Management. He moved on to be an associate portfolio manager of small-cap U.S. equities at Bessemer Trust. He joined Warburg Pincus in 1997 and moved on to Credit Suisse Asset Management when it acquired Warburg Pincus. In 1998 he was named co-portfolio manager of the small-cap growth product and in 2001 he also became co-portfolio manager of the SMid Growth and Mid-Cap Growth products.

Sammy holds an A.B. from Stanford University and an MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth University.

William L. Potter

William L. Potter, Managing Director
Will Potter is portfolio manager of AG Asset Management's Mid Cap Growth strategy. He joined the firm in 2002 from ABN AMRO (formerly ING Barings, and Furman Selz) where he was Managing Director and research analyst from 1997 to 2002. During that time, he was recognized as a leader in technology and industrial equity research in several published surveys, including the Wall Street Journal's "Best on the Street Survey" in 2000 and 2001. Prior to Furman Selz, Will was a Vice President and research analyst at Alex.Brown from 1994 to 1997 and at Wertheim Schroder from 1992 to 1994.

From 1988 to 1992 Will worked in Venture Capital at Safeguard Securities and led private financings for several companies that subsequently went public, including Cambridge Technology Partners and Wave Technologies. Will started his career in commercial banking in 1982 as a corporate lending officer at Manufacturers Hanover Trust and then Chemical Bank from 1985 to 1987, before going to business school. Will is a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences on the topics of investment strategy, security selection, portfolio construction and risk controls.

Will received his MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and his BBA from Emory University.

John Rhodes

John Rhodes, CFA, Managing Director
John is an Associate Portfolio Manager and Product Specialist at AG Asset Management. Early in his career, John was an Assistant Vice-President with the Pension Investment Strategy Group at Equitable Capital Management. He moved on to be Vice President and client advisor at Bankers Trust Company. He joined Warburg Pincus Asset Management (WPAM) in 1996 and went to CSAM in 1999 when it acquired WPAM.

John holds a B.S. from Georgia Institute of Technology and is a CFA charterholder.

Gus Scacco

Gus Scacco, Managing Director
Gus is lead portfolio manager for All-Cap Growth and is a research analyst. He joined AG Asset Management as a Director in 2004. He began his career at Chemical Bank in 1988 in Commercial Lending and moved on to Deutsche Bank, where he worked in Corporate Finance in 1991. In 1992 he moved to J. & W. Seligman, where he was a Small Cap equity research analyst. He gained industry experience at that point, when he became vice president, finance, at Amicale Industries in New York. In 1998 he joined Morgan Stanley in Equity Research, concentrating in financials, consumer discretionary and business services across capitalization ranges.

Gus has passed the Series 7 and 63 examinations. He received a BBA from Adelphi University and an MBA from Hofstra University's Frank Zarb School of Business.

Brian Zimmerman

Brian Zimmerman, Managing Director
Brian is a research analyst who re-joined the Firm in 2005. He is a AG Asset Management alumnus; Brian previously spent five years with the Firm as a research analyst. He has 11 years of investment management experience. He returned to the firm from MSW Asset Management, where he was a research analyst. Brian's industry breadth and extensive fundamental research skills, coupled with his familiarity with the AG Asset Management philosophy, process and culture, made him a significant and immediate contributor to our research efforts.

Brian has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Old Dominion University and is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the National Association of Petroleum Industry Analysts.

Lisa Chai

Lisa Chai, Director
Lisa is a member of AG Asset Management's small cap growth team. Lisa has 11 years of experience following technology companies. She joins the firm from Tavistock Group, where she was a research analyst in private equity and a portfolio manager for a small-cap technology fund since 2004. Previously, Lisa was a partner at Ridgecrest Partners focusing on technology since 2000. Prior to that, she was a Director at Georgeson & Company, advising in corporate governance consulting, mergers & acquisitions and corporate control transactions for the telecom and technology sectors.

Lisa received her BS with a major in Finance and a minor in MIS at the Boston University's School of Management.

Kris Tomasovic Nelson

Kris Tomasovic Nelson, CFA, Director
Kris is a research analyst whose focus is Technology, Telecommunications, and Media. Prior to joining AG Asset Management, she worked at ABN AMRO, Inc. from 2000 to 2002, as a research associate in the Industrial Manufacturing and Technology group. Before that, she was a research associate in the Telecom Equipment group, also at ABN AMRO. She began her career as an intern in the summer of 1996 and 1998 as a Financial Planning Assistant for Delta Financial Group. Kris later taught English in Japan for the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program, from 1998 to 2000.

Kris is a CFA charterholder and has passed the Series 7 examination. She received a BS from Villanova University and has her level III certification in the Japanese Proficiency Exam.

Peter Wen

Peter Wen, Director
Peter joined AG Asset Management in 2004 to work on small, smid, mid, large and all cap growth investment strategies. He came from Credit Suisse Asset Management, where he was a Healthcare Research Analyst and Sector Fund Portfolio Manager focusing on small, mid and large cap investment recommendations for growth and value products.

Peter started his career as a Principal and Founder of Spec Inc., a software start-up in Cambridge, Massachusetts, from 1983 to 1992. After business school, he worked at Lynch & Mayer, Inc., a private equity firm, as a Large/Mid Cap Healthcare Analyst making investment recommendations of pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, and services companies. Peter then joined Warburg Pincus, which later was absorbed by Credit Suisse Asset Management; he was there from 1999 to 2004.

Peter has an MBA from The Wharton School, and a BA from Harvard University.
